National Non-Communicable Diseases Strategic Plan 2021/22-2025/26

Ministry of Health  |  Ministry of Health

Abstract

Kenya's National Strategic Plan for the Prevention and Control of Non-Communicable Diseases (2021/22–2025/26) provides the country's roadmap for reducing the growing burden of NCDs, which account for 39% of annual deaths. The strategy adopts a life-course and multisectoral approach to prevent and manage a broad range of NCDs and their major risk factors while strengthening health systems, governance, advocacy, research, and surveillance. Built around five strategic pillars, it aims to improve equitable access to quality NCD services, reduce exposure to modifiable risk factors, enhance coordination across sectors, and strengthen evidence-informed decision-making through a robust monitoring and evaluation framework, providing a blueprint for national and county action over the five-year implementation period.
